Martyn Smith ignores or chooses to ignore 2 facts that make his ameliorating apology of Rudd's wrongdoing incorrect.
1. Rudd's good friend the editor of The Australian and at least one of the people present that night made perfectly clear eventually last weekend in an editorial in The Weekend Australian that there was no breach confidence, i.e. he did not publish a story that was not ok'ed by the source.
2. The writer of te story has made plain that he telephoned the PM's office to have the detail's confirmed before the story went to print.

This was no misuse of an off the cuff remark by the PM.

Furthermore Mitchell stands by the version of the story that the paper printed.

Now it is firmly established that Bush never said "What's the G20?"

Therefore The Australian was lied to by this source........and was given the false impression that Rudd had to masterfully persuade Bush who was reluctant, ignorant and incredibly stupid.

Who was this source....... that lied and endeavoured however ineptly to give the impression that Rudd was an adroit statesman dealing with a reluctant idiot in the interests of the 'war' against the global financial crisis ?

Rudd’s good friend the editor of The Australian and at least one of the people present that night made perfectly clear eventually last weekend in an editorial in The Weekend Australian that there was no breach confidence, i.e. he did not publish a story that was not ok’ed by the source.
2. The writer of te story has made plain that he telephoned the PM’s office to have the detail’s confirmed before the story went to print.

This was no misuse of an off the cuff remark by the PM.

Furthermore Mitchell stands by the version of the story that the paper printed.

Now it is firmly established that Bush never said “What’s the G20?”

Therefore The Australian was lied to by this source……..and was given the false impression that Rudd had to masterfully persuade Bush who was reluctant, ignorant and incredibly stupid.

Who was this source……. that lied and endeavoured however ineptly to give the impression that Rudd was an adroit statesman dealing with a reluctant idiot in the interests of the ‘war’ against the global financial crisis ?

I think you'll find the axiom, Ken Lambert, is "Bad money drives out good", otherwise known as Gresham's Law.

I have to say that I am rapt in Rapske, here is a Director of Public Prosecutions who has no doubt their is a legal cartel in the Victorian Judicial System a man who over the years has seen what vicims and if they are not alive their families see first hand in our courts, how hear say evidence is allowed by the defence, but not by the prosecution. A place where defence lawyer defame the dead, and discredit good people doing their duty as witness, a place where most judges who are picked are ex defence lawyers who have laid down with the dogs, and are picked to be judges, it is outrageous and disgacrefull. Judges are un- accountable if they were in the real world of Corporate business most would be kicked out after their first or second sentence for incompetences. Keep up the good work Director Rapke.
Noel McNamara
