Richard, being a good journalist, must have been writing in haste when he mentioned a harsh reality for we journalists — surely he meant a harsh reality for us journalists — or is the mistake on about wee journalists. Whatever the case, an editor should have dealt with it.

I always skim them and usually read at least one chunk closely each day. But in the dialy email not by clicking on the piece on line.

I hope Crikey at least invites you to contrubute occassional pieces.

Shame about the media wrap going. I must say one reason I read it infrequently is that I do my daily trawl before it’s up. For example checked today at, from memory, around 8.30am and it was still yesterday’s page.
Richard Farmer is still the most consistently readable item in Crikey each day.

It’s the format that did you in me old son - the way the Crikey! page is setup - you kinda think there not much more to delve into apart from the headlines… Not sure if what you did is good or bad… the layout always confuses me and I’m sure many others

I’ll miss the daily wrap Richard.
I understand those brutes in management
will probably want to waste you hard earned
stipend on more timtams for morning tea…….
But I hope they’ll still let you bang on a keyboard.
I couldn’t bear to think of Crikey going down the Fairfax path.

Well I am extremely disappointed. I read breakfast media wrap most days. It was one of the most useful regular contributions on Crikey and I will miss it.

Alf made a very good point.

Also advertising the fact that by 8.30 am every morning there would be a summary of major stories in the media that day on the Crikey website would increase traffic.

Anyhoo…re the Tele’s declining numbers, when they fall to the level of Richard’s readership on Crikey then they will need to sound the alarm bells…’til then they probably won’t be following the ‘crikey guide’ mate.

You Crikey blokes tend to forget that compared to the fragmented internet, newspapers are actually a stable and solid base of readers….

I can’t believe it. The main reason I subscribe to Crikey is Richard Farmer’s Media Wrap. There is no more efficient way to get a handle on the day’s national AND international news. And it is/was unique to Crikey. So what is your advice as to where to from here? The Oz? With unbiased geniuses like Greg Sheridan, Denis Shanahan, ………….? Do I make my point?
