It looks as if management does not have confidence in its capacity to answer direct questions in a public forum.

It is reasonable for shareholders to raise questions of accountability when major errors are made. It is reasonable to expect a highly paid CEO to address an AGM and clarify any dispute over remuneration.

This is a public company; a company protected from competition by the Government so that it can, amongst other things, ask questions of powerful institutions. Ironic that it should conduct itself in such a way.

Stokes is quoted in The Australian today blaming Wall Street for 'greed'. A reminder that of the seven deadly sins, 'pride' is considered the most serious. Dante defines this to include 'contempt for one's neighbour'.

Contempt for viewers? My elderly moher was watching a film on Saturday night - a thinly disguised Princess Mary story. They cut 10 minutes out of it, sudden end, no resolution, for the fucking car racing.

If the author was attempting to highlight either misdeeds or wrongdoing at this AGM he has failed to convince me. This article sounds like someone with an axe to grind making an arse of themselves from the meeting room floor.

Why ask a Director why she owns no shares? What could the correct answer to that question possibly be?

Can we get some serious and qualified journalism on the Company rather than something that seems to be designed to promote the author as a celebrity?

Being a broadcaster, and therefore more `public` than most , does 7 have a death wish? They seem to think that transparency, is something you have, when forced to by legislation!

The contempt management and board of the Seven network have for their shareholders is mirrored in respect of its viewers. Just as Seven does not wish to avail itself to questions and constructive criticism at its AGM, it also does not wish to receive any feedback via its website. Unlike other networks, Seven does not have an email address viewers can use to contact the network to express any concerns regarding the broadcaster.
