Similarly the banks who apparently relied on the government's endorsement of the policy. It really makes you wonder if John Howard and his now foolish, arrogant and struggling side-kick - Peter Costello - really did have a handle on the economy. Or did the pair just kick up their heels in false confidence that private enteprise would do itsr job. We need regulation in this country because the resources of agenda-driven ideals are so depleted. This is a prime example of the Westminster system not working.
