For the past four years he and his four fellow Rockdale Labor councillors have been in an ironclad alliance with the five Liberals against the four independents and one Green. They rotate the mayoralty year on year: Labor, Liberal, Labor, etc.<br /><br />The Lib-Lab alliance is locked into a grandiose and very expensive scheme, called variously Visions 2020 and Destinations Rockdale, to turn the shores of Botany Bay into a garish overdevelopment.<br /><br />On top of that, the local go-getters want to turn the very important Cooks River wetlands into an industrial/residential park, called Cooks Cove.<br /><br />All this is predicated on building a freeway on the Scarborough Park green strip that runs from the Georges to Cooks rivers.<br /><br />Moselmane is up to his neck in league with the local white shoe brigade to get in for their cut of the cheap money Shangri La that has just ended in disaster, particularly for those with retirement savings in superannuation. News of this development appears to be taking a while to sink in, as the Lib-Lab Rockdale councillors are still talking enthusiastically about Destinations, etc.<br /><br />John Robertson is much better value than Moselmain, who wouldn't do NSW Muslims any good as a member of the upper house.
