Singing from the Republican hymnbook, complete with all the silly slurs. Most Americans will think that the crisis is too serious to be entertaining this kind of stuff. If McCain insists on going down the route John James outlines then he will turn a respectable defeat into an utter rout.

It ain’t over until the sweet lady sings and right now she is going after Obama, which is great. The GOP is certainly up against it but 4 weeks is an eternity in politics and Sarah is swinging into this election now. Obama’s Left liberal record will be front and centre as should the Democrats roll in the sub prime fiasco. I notice that Franklin Raines, who made $90 million as head of Fannie Mae, marketing NINJA (No Income No Job no Assets ) loans, is advising Obama on housing. Congressman Frank and Senator Dodds, liberal Democrats ( is there any other kind? ) blocked attempts to regulate this madness, insisting that “the little guy” had to have a chance to own a home.
Obama is obtaining loans from overseas. I’ll bet Osama is rubbing his hands at the thought of this guy, who wants to sit down and negotiate, winning the Whitehouse. Some irony that the only war this harvard lawyer will wage is on the unborn. He hasn’t ythe balls for anything else.

But you are never one to allow a fact get in the way of those warm fuzzy prejudices you so clearly love preaching.

It must give you a warm feeling inside to be on first name terms with Palin, John James.

Your definition of patriotism is pretty unattractive. Oliver North, far from being a patriot, indulged in enterprises that broke American law and defied the Constitution. Not concidentally that was the kind of patriotism that the Nazis favoured and Oliver North is a proto-fascist who sought to use patriotism as a cover for creating a kind of civil war in his own country.

You seem also to favour the George Bush brand of patriotism. Let me ask then if it is patriotic to indulge in incompetently run foreign adventures that only weaken your country's standing and strength around the world?

Is it patriotic to run gigantic deficits that undermine your nation's economy and give you little move when the country falls into economic crisis?

Is i patriotic to intentionally intensify class and wealth disparities within your country?

Is it patriotic to deregulate financial markets to such an extent that they have the capacity to derail the global economy?

Its interesting that those from the right blame “Socially progressive activism’” as the cause of the global economic crisis. I have heard this argument before- blaming Clinton’s policies etc etc as this somehow absolves Bush and the republicans from any culpability.

Well lets be generous and say for the sake of argument that they are correct. Therefore the only conclusion we can draw is that the Bush Government was either incompetent or impotent in responding and remedying the issue. After all they were in office for eight years….
