If i remember correctly, yesterday's CHOICE article referenced actual research that demonstrated their argument. Here we have a bunch of ad hoc examples. If the FGC want to be taken seriously and not seen as simply self-serving. perhaps they should put some scientific rigour into their argument.

As head of the Food & Grocery Council, Kate Carnell continues to hold a position on the Preventative Health Taskforce -- a spot given to her when she headed up the Australian General Practice Network. The fact that she has not had the decency to resign, nor come under pressure to do so, says a lot about the way health policy is run in Australia.

Why use either system when you could follow the patented 'Biskit Healthy Eating Rules'

1. If it says it is low in sugar then its high in fat - don't buy it
2. If it says low in fat then its high in sugar - don't buy it
3. If it doesn't say anything it is high in both - don't buy it
4. If it is low in human interference then it's likely to be low in both - Buy it!

Honestly consumers don't need more labeling, they just need to get a clue. Eating well and staying active isn't rocket science.
