Established Senate Practices should not be ignored or derailed because one side of the Senate Chamber or another would,in a particular set of circumstances, be favoured. A Senate Practice cannot be said to be "perverse", as Bernard Keane claims, simply because its practical effect (in one peculiar set of circumstances) may be to 'protect the excecutive arm of government'. <br />Parliamentary power should be used in a principled manner,not as a bludgeon nor a Kangouroo Court.<br />Thank You Harry Evans for having upheld the principles of Parliamentary Sovereignty against abuse from all sides of politics.<br />Your excellent work has not passed unnoticed.
