Why do most Liberal women look like clones of Bishop, all big hair, bossy manner and hard faces? Amanda Vanstone was an exception, a real person....Remember that song for Australia she composed and was willing to sing it in public after she got the boot as minister for every hard portfolio that could be handed to one Minister. The current mob of Liberal women need to get a personality.

Er not in the shadow health portfolio she didn't David. Her lowest ebb I suspect.

I like Abbot, but Bernard is right his mouth more than anything forced the leadership spill. His lowest ebb I hope.

I love Julia and she is the future of the Labor party if the powerbrokers has half a brain between 'em

No doubt Crikey, your Labor-biased commentator Mr Keane does criticise Government Ministers, Members and decision-making - just that I can't remember any or when.
The bile he lets loose in this particular article, directed at most if not all of the Shadow Cabinet, does nothing for his credibility as a political commentator - but then his credibility is already pretty low, so......!

No doubt, as he has done before, Mr Keane will disclaim the heading to this article. However the phraseology "Clash of the Chihuahuas" does draw in members of the Labor cabinet as well, so I have to agree that balance applies - at least in the Heading which Bernard will disclaim.

Notice Turnbull didn't put Abbott into the shadow treasurre's role. Unlike Bernard and the rest of the Left commentariart, Turnbull knows where, in the long term, the challenge to his view of Conservative politics will emanate. 'Abbo' would eat Swan and Gillard, something Turnbull knows only too well, having crossed swords with Abbott during his term as Republican mentor. Turnbull still carries the scars.

What planet do you inhabit John James? Abbott wouldn't get near 'eating' as you put it, Julia Gillard. Grief she has had his measure many times. Abbott knows only one line of attack, that is puting the boot in. He yells and screams like a demented being, face reddened, eyes bulging. Obviously his medication doesn't work too well. He has one major problem, he is a Howard yesterdays man, will always be remembered for that, baggage obviously the merchant banker is not too interested in carrying. Check out the front Opposition bench, not many of Johnnys henchmen left.
