In terms of narrative or presence, the host of the show serves no purpose at all, other than to introduce the next story about miracle diets or dodgy tenants. Being that the stories are re-used and re-done (Miracle diets, dodgy tenants, fashion news, celebrity stuff) both networks could probably just plonk file footage of previous story introductions in there and nobody would know the difference.
