Amazing compilation of Shock and Awe in the US papers on the financial crisis. Also amazing that there is not one comment indicating that this was utterly predictable and was brought about by greedy clowns. That Americans lack irony was never in doubt but how is that the American media is so completely unable to look at these dunderheads except with pity about them losing their jobs. These are the guys responsible for higher interest rates and the whole credit squeeze! And now the destruction of the US banking system, once the envy of the world. No mention that in the last 8 years the US government has managed to encourage high risk gambles both on Wall Street and in Iraq with similar results. McCain must really be the last of the true believers when he echos George W Bush is saying that the economy is fundamentally in good shape. Not from where we are sitting, John.
