The Pademelon IS good - it captures that air of self-satisfaction so well, plus it seems about to rush off and do something …but probably won’t.

    What sort of pademelon?
A red-necked Pademelon would hardly be appropriate, that might be better for Wilson Tuckey…

What about a Rufous Bettong? They’re quite silvery looking. Like to sneak around in the undergrowth too, waiting

A silver spoon, no a pink marshmallow

No… a pink marshmallow on a silver fork

Yes….I’m just re-reading this now. I probably should have called it, how not to draw Malcolm Turnbull. Although the Pademelon is good. Someone has suggested a koala and I am working on that now.

Beetroot is essential on anything calling itself an Aussie hamburger. Pineapple is an option I don’t go with but I do consider it as having legitimacy (unlike on any pizza other than BBQ chicken).

Malcolm’s cartoon should definately be a silvertail bird of sorts. Can’t be a silvertailed rooster as that could get him confused with Latham’s roosters, not a chicken because he did challenge afterall, so perhaps to highlight his humble personality and past, Malcolm should be a silvertail pigeon?

how bout a silverbacked emu? Then you can draw him with his head in the sand when and if (and there will be if’s) that is appropriate.

I totally disagree on the pineapple Lucy. Pineapple is entirely appropriate on a hamburger. Tinned beetroot however has no place anywhere.

Perhaps some sort of Silvertail for Malcolm? Never heard of such an animal, but Silvereye is close.

Dear first dog, sincere condolences on the sad demise of Brendan Nelson’s hair.
It will be sadly missed by us all.

Now put on your thinking cap and come up with something worthy of a republican merchant banker.
Wombats and watermelons etc just won’t do.

He’s an Hairtail (Trichiurus coxii) with a lower jaw more prominent than the upper, a whiplike scaleless body and sharp teeth; closely related to snake mackerel and the barracouda!!! That’s Mal ?? He cruises the deepwater inlets of Pittwater on cold winter nights and when I saw a close up on the ABC tonight I knew I’d seen him before.
