The 'Little Red School Book' should not be confused with The Little Red Book, which should be more accurately called 'Quotations from Chairman Mao Tsetung'. The little red school book was first published in Danish in 1972, was written by Soren hansen and Jesper Jensen. It was widely distributed in its Australian translation by the high school underground in the early 1970s. It has nothing to with exhortations of the Maoist, or -heaven help us- Ruddist variety. Most of what is say would now be regarded as very sensible advice to young people. During the 1970s, when the teaching profession was filled with the most appalling reactionary dunderheads, the 'Little Red Schoolbook' was a revolutionary text.
