I have read the SMH for some 51 years and feel very possessive of 'MY' Sydney Morning Herald. I feel the same way about MY ABC.<br />This could be because I am an only child, but, I think many other people are feeling the same way towards management at Fairfax. There are not many true Australian icons left.....please do not allow another to fall. Stephen Downes article rings very true to me. The principal reason was the treatment of Mike Carlton. <br /><br />I now feel that my choice of daily newspaper has been liberated. Love's lost. This suggests to me that there have been many tiny changes over a long period of time and that the Herald we once knew has slowly morphed into a bunch of cuts and pastes from many overseas papers.
