Agreed, Luscombe deserves credit for fronting Four Corners. But his body laguage and shifty answers said a lot more than he did. It might have been smarter to stay away. And at the risk of perpetuating a new Woolworths myth, the Maleny supermarket is not "booming". (Sorry Stephen, that's not the word Naum Onikul used but it's the impression Woolworths deserately seeks to convey). There are 4000 people in Maleny and the 79% who opposed Woolworths on that creekbank (independent survey) still refuse to shop there. Naum's "5000 transactions a week" is causing a lot of chuckles here as we continue to support our local butchers, fruiterer, bakers and excellent IGA. If Naum is counting cars in the Woolworths carpark, there's bad news: locals are using it to visit the pub next door and many are taking advantage of the easy parking to shop uptown.

Some good points made but to expect Woolies to sell for similar prices to Aldi is impossible. If consumers want quality brand name products then they will have to pay more for them. Comparing Aldi and Woolies is like comparing apples and oranges. Last time I checked there was no crime in making a profit too, in fact I think Crikey is trying to make one and so they should.
