Rendering innocent people, incarcerating them for years without a trial, keeping them incommunicado, denying fundamental rights of humans in general, families, parents and children in particular, was the biggest abuse of power in Australian history. It was abuse of democratic processes. No wonder, so many Australian residents were rendered by mistake by the zealous bureaucrats who remind me of 'Cherezvychayka' (Cheka) or NKVD. The Howard regime cannot even be compared to Gen. Franco or Argentinian juntas; it would offend the juntas. Allowing foreign powers to incarcerate Australian citizens without substance was shedding the responsibility of the government towards its citizens. Howard government did manage to ruin many innocent lives and many careers, and left people totally devastated, mentally sick and unable to provide for themselves. Howard Cabinet should pay all the compensation cases out of their own pockets. Just makes you wonder what the word 'terror' really means.

Nothing illustrated more, than the incarceration of innocent children the power gone mad aspect of John Howard. The old adage "complete power corrupts" was never truer than when this small minded man decided to use the awful plight of others fleeing for their lives ,as an election gimmick. At the height of the folly of this power crazed fool-he actually decided the only worthy citizens deemed suitable as immigrants to Australia-should be a knowledge of some cricketer called Don Bradman. History will treat his legacy very unkindly. It's a pity he could not be made face the results of his actions today.

Maybe it tells us how oppressive, desperate and engineered our political parties are becoming. In a two-party system where the current government sat on its hands while detainees and their advocates loudly protested to no avail, there are no guarantees this won't happen again. Labor state governments have demonstrated their skewed values - prepared to punish their own - Gillian Sneddon!! Until Rudd gives rock-solid assurances and enacts a Bill of Rights this government is equally condemned.

If only! If only that midget of mediocrity, John Howard, could even understand what it is that every reasonable human being hates about him. not to mention the crooked basta*s that willingly served under him. There is no hell bad enough for this little monster. I guess it's quite simple really. Behave like Hitler and you will have a merciful death. Behave like a human being and the Catholics get to tell you how to die. Slowly, painfully and being tortured to death by the medical fraternity.
