Our practice has taken the "no free lunch" approach to dealing with drug reps. Whilst happy to meet with them twice weekly we refuse to accept handouts, fully aware of the marketing power of Big Pharma. As a group of 10 general practitioners committed to social justice, we have requested that the money which would otherwise be spent on dining us be put into a fund to be sent abroad to help combat diseases such as malaria and TB. This is yet to happen however despite us setting up an account.

I only ever use a black Bic ballpoint pen and have de-branded my office, instead choosing to plaster my walls with information about clearfelling in Tasmania, the controlled demolition of the World Trade Centres, and the injustices imposed on civilians by corporations such as Exxon-Mobil and Nike.

I, along with my colleauges, would always be happy to answer any questions our patients may ask us as to where our loyalites lie.
