I wondered who'd succumbed to post-partum hysteria when I saw the 7.30 Report tonight. Sort of explains the Facebook and other self-promotion measures Misha's employing. Perhaps it's the new breed of 'churno' who survive crumbling mastheads. Which means we can expect an upcoming Insiders program to feature Misha and her tips on how to breast-feed during iconic policy announcements.

Turnbull may well have questions to answer, but where was Costello and 'due diligence' in this matter.

The Wankley Award should go to Misha Schubert of the Age for her brazen attention-seeking behaviour at the National Press Club in Canberra today. In case you missed it, Misha brought her new-born child into the NPC for the PM's address and sat at the head table with the other Press Club Board Directors and the Prime Minister. Rudd obliged by kissing the child for the cameras. After getting as much media attention as possible Schubert slipped out of the room in case the munchkin started to wail. I'm all for family-friendly workplaces, but this display of self-indulgence had nothing to do with motherhood.
