Seven might have held their ratings but that is because if you want to watch the Olympics you have to watch Seven (or SBS for some of the minor sports). But that does not mean we like their coverage. I cannot wait until Sunday night when I can stop watching the endless cross promotionsand innane chattering hosts. And what do they lose by not telling us the actual time that events will be aired? OK we could miss seeing their ads but we can do that anyway by using the remote control or making a cup of tea. Now I miss the ads and am insanely irritatedby the station. Good work Seven.

As a fox sub I can't wait for the next Olympics. Ten channels or so for $50 (where with Fox's track record) everything will be live then replayed - I may actually get to watch sports at a resonable time which don't -shock horror - involve Australia!

It seems foolish to an additional post in relation to Channel 7's coverage of the games, but I really feel it should be noted that Channel 7's coverage has left me so infuriated that I will never watch another of their programmes live again. Channel 7 can spend a fortune on media-spin and happy-clappy morning presenters, but it is all for nothing if they achieve nothing more than 2 weeks of seething anger amongst the viewing public who know that the broadcast has been seriously below par.

Just a very pedantic point Glen - Beijing isn't 2 hours behind us, in fact it is in the same time zone as Australia. Oh, it is 2 hours behind Qld, NSW, Victoria and Tas!
But it would be nice if 7 actually could let us know what is live or delayed. I came last night after listening in to the softball, only to find that the telecast was about 10 mins delayed for some reason? But they managed to show the 200m final completely live....I think viewers can understand the difficulty of showing all of this on only 1 channel, but why insult us by not keeping us informed as to what the exact situation is on delay?

Cheers and thanks
Patrick
Perth Western Australia, same time zone as China

Hopefully with the nine -microsoft tie in the online coverage will be better than the p_ss poor effort Yahoo!7 put in. Much delayed small windows that can't be enlarged, and 1 hr of live a day that I can't get to work, even with Yahoo technical support. That is if you can find it.

Hello, hello, wherever you are. Are you all feeling refreshed, at peace with yourselves, tranquil? No? Happy, no! Oh dear. I've just taken a peek at some of the letters and they appear to be critical of Channel seven's Olympic coverage. I didn't know there was any coverage. Gee, I don't know what to say. I had a look at ten minutes of advertisements for the opening stanza. By then, I thought it was a bl*ody cheek to think they were going to interrupt such lavish spending on true blue Oz tampons, just to show the public such trivia as iron jock-strap Aussies poncing around for coloured- tin medallions.
Therefore I threw the TV set out of a closed window, and went up to my brother's Augustinian retreat, well it was an Augustinian monastery, but the good fathers couldn't compete with capitalism. So they sold it to a coven of Buddhists. Being lazy, Matthew changed his religion rather than changing his address. I'm so sorry that so many people felt dudded.
But, as my great-aunt, Maria Paz Dolores, always used to say: "I warn you Venise, Never look at Commercial Television; It is programmed by fools in order to cater for fools and only a fool would take it seriously! " The words non-commercial died like a dead turd in my mouth. As she said, "As for Channel Two, it is the natural habitat for politicians." She shuddered gently prior to sinking a glass of my best Jerez.
"Desculpame, tia Maria Paz Dolores." I murmured as I passed her the bottle.
