Hardly at the 'behest' of DSE. You need to correct that totally misleading turn of phrase. At the behest of the farmer who applied for the permit.

Typical of John Brumby's government, the 'go ahead government ' go ahead and slaughter anything that moves (unless it's a car), take urban and suburban parks and sell them to developers, but MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. Always give in to the farmers.
As for the Farmers, how fu*king typical. Absolutely stinking, rotten, half-witted, always on the take Farmers. They think of themselves as builders of a nation. Yet they destroy everything they touch. They are the first people to want protection, they have flooded the media with their sob stories about how tough it is to be a farmer, whinge, sob, sob "I dunno if we can hold out for another year of drought!", we want help, etc, etc. But they have no hesitation at wiping out OUR native birds, wildlife, forests, you name it. A vote for the National Party is a vote for destruction. A vote for the farmers is an invitation to the disaster they have caused our country.

What an appalling comment on the Victorian Government's DSE.
What has been learned over the years? I submit that the farmers are part of the reason for the abundance of certain species. Have they not contributed to the fertilizer/weedicide run off into our river & lake systems upsetting nature's natural balance of food/prey and preyed upon?

As soon as a department has so many names; you know is does the opposite of its title. Department of Sustainability and Environment. Department of Slaughter, degradation and Elementary devastation. The hundreds of thousands of years of evolution of black swans, wiped out by a neanderthal, knuckle-dragging ape.
