Yes, I agree, First Dog, but the true spirit of the Olympics was displayed in 1968, when after an estimated 2000 protesting students were gunned down, two weeks before the Opening, with the IOF taking a brave, or cowardly decision, depending on your point of view, to `Let the Games begin!“. This allowed Tommy Smith, Peter Norman and John Carlos to show what is the REAL Olympic spirit.
