It was Bob Hawke that talked about the tennis courts... seems all the labour greats are coming out with sage and interesting advice.

Did Keating mention Carter's tennis courts too? Bob Hawke brough this up on Denton the other week. He also stressed the importance of delegation and reflection.

I don't like Keating, never have ... but he is picking up my favourite comparison, that the Slurp from Brissie will do to us what that peanut (farmer) Carter did to the US in his moronic zeal to heal the world starting with the Shah of Iran, the return of Khomeini, the rise of militant Islam and the stranglehold of OPEC on the rest of the world, Carter initiatives one and all. Now we have The Slurp heading in the same naive direction so much so that Keating feels compelled to state the bleeding obvious. The more things change the more they stay the same … and just to be ecumenical in my disdain for both sides of the debate as to where we are heading, to think the The Smirk can hey presto become appealing to us now that Honest John has been sent to the woodpile, is almost as ridiculous as The Slurp's amateurish posturing on behalf of our once lucky country. We deserve better and should demand more

Coming from a nobody position in Australian politics, in life for that matter........presumably Keating took the opportunity to have a quiet word with Rudd before making these comments on national television? <br />
