There is a public street near where I live where one of the residents believes that anyone who does not live in the street has no right to be there. He may be a bit extreme but he does represent a trend where people are trying to privatise public space. The street is a public space and Google is fully entitled to photograph it and present it online. Privacy is a right but it is also a bourgeois obsession that is being taken too far and it is starting to hinder the operation of the public sphere.
