Green vitriol then (ferrous sulfate). Makes me ask for the ability to be able to have colours for our comments. I’d like to be able to use angle brackets around words too, without getting a server crash page. All capital letter is SHOUTING! I wish people wouldn’t do it unless they really mean to.

I am reminded of a P.J. O’Rourke piece, roughly stating that 20 hippies with a thousand dollars worth of equipment will always get better sound than the money men with 10,000 dollars to back them.

Of course, these days the numbers a one million and ten million, but the principle remains.

Re: heartless comment makers. I must admit I’m often bemused by people who leave vitriolic comments after being exposed to a piece they disagree with. There are a lot of very angry people on the internet who take it all rather seriously.

You all know the old saying “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”
poor Toby Young , I feel so sorry that some people don’t agree with him and let him know it .
I don’t know what sort of reporter he is ,enterainment,politics,techology what ever , the internet has given plebs like me an avenue to disagree with people we don’t agree with..
It’s called democracy….
