Lame excuses such as the pilot having to deal with too much paperwork really are a laugh, particularly when there is a flurry of activity by mechanics in the vicinity of the plane. Qantas needs to remember that it doesn't exist for its shareholders or management but for the safe transport of its customers. When the customer becomes unhappy about good performance, then another provider usually benefits.
