Derek, while you're undoubtedly correct about Goerring, I'd have thought Morrie's advisers would have been more concerned about comparisons to the "man of steel" claims made by George Dubya about both Howard and Rudd (men of laminated chipboard and slightly brittle plastic respectively) than anything from WW2.

Phil, that's exactly the point I'm making and one that Morry's spin team should have thought about....

The Green/Democrat vote in Ryde has always been important to JW - deferential to former activist Noel Plumb as AD candidate several times in the past 10 years. What now I wonder. Also does Morris have the flu (like many others at the moment)? Because he is looking very queasy on the tv lately. God knows the pressure he must be under. Who has leaked those transport stories to Linton Besser at the Herald? It's a hammer. Talk about throw away planning for mates construction contracts. Speaking of which a little bird tells me - well allright a bloke from the Big Meeja on the train just now reading the Abe Saffron expose - that a leading (!) developer in this town has paid $75K political donation 06-07 (?) via a proxy to cover up the fact he ISN'T donating equally to both sides after all. Mmm. Thanks for the tip sport. Is that like .... illegal?

Ryde, at a 10.1% margin is hardly marginal.

Whilst not really giving a sh-t about NSW state politics anymore (lived in Sydney for 6 years but not any more), Morris Iemma should do well to remember that another public figure who liked to be called "Iron Man" was Der Eiserne, known to english speakers around the globe as Hermann Goring......
