"ironically both matters were settled prior..."
Perhaps "ironically" is not the appropriate word to use here. But I guess the libel laws would prevent many obvious suggestions being used.

An excellent piece. I must say I tend to assume any super-rich Jew will have been up to some devious practice(s). Richard Pratt and Frank Lowy support my poor view of the Jews. Gutnick was another Jew with som highly questionable dealings in his past. And Solly Lew's Coles-Myer play was anything but "proper", even if legal.

It seems the Jews can't help it -- they are just made that way!

That settlement took place in 1995 when the Keating government was in power and Ralph Willis was Treasurer.

Crikey readers,
I was alarmed by Les Heimann’s observations. He seriously believes guilt must be beyond doubt. This is only true for those with the means to take the ATO to task. Get real, it isn’t this way. Those who don’t have the means have no option other than to settle or face financial ruin. The bell curve (income/tax) will always provide the nations coffers with greater rewards by ignoring the extremes. The rich get richer, the poor stay poor, the middle pays. The ATO is geared this way.

Spare us the rhetoric and the bleeding hearts tale. I don’t have the need for a bank account in Lichtenstein but, there again, I’m not a board member of the Reserve Bank.
