In NSW there is nothing surprising about bi-partisan allegiances between Labor and Liberal when it comes to keeping the big end of town 'sweet'. In Hornsby NSW we are quite familiar with the effects of this cosy bipartisanship which enriches the big end of town at great expense to the public. The Labor councilors manage the reputation of their Labor State Government over the scandalous approval of the secret transfer of CSR Ltd's $80Million liability (the infamous Hornsby Quarry) to the public. The majority of Liberal councilors on Hornsby Council do not want to reveal their part it this mess either so nobody in the NSW government will represent the Hornsby community against the unjust profits of big business. Just adding to the burden is the continual squandering of ratepayers' money on spin and consultants - trying to justify this injustice, and defend the indefensible.
