Keith Bedford: well done - a ‘man of smirk and mirrors’. The best and funniest description I’ve read of Costello. It’s the best and funniest description of anything anytime ever. It is so sublimely funny etc etc…..

Only moron Australians who deserve nothing but pain would vote for him or like to see him stay on in politics etc etc…….

How come he came from the same parents as Tim? Perhaps a liason with the milkman? Tim is so nice whilst ‘Costello’ smirks and is evil etc etc ……

The banks have not given him a job because unlike the moron australians who vote for him, the banks whilst evil are clever and they don’t want to waste their money etc etc….

It’s all very well people whining about Kevin Rudd not buying the water for the Murray but the problem is there is not enough bloody water and no amount of this inane whining by city folk who don’t have a clue will make the rains come.

I don’t think I have ever read such tosh about a subject in years.

Marilyn: the obvious, and perhaps only solution is that we put our agricultural wing out to pasture - stop protecting it beyond its economic strength (8% of GDP) and use that money to ‘beef up’ other parts of the economy. No, we can’t make it rain, but we can at least stop spending money on a dead industry, and start to invest in live ones.
