The prize should go for your 'entire' comment, Michael. Even the word 'entire' is not appropriate since it would seem to suggest something substantial which it clearly is not.
'Entire' wrt Milne's article, however, is 'entirely' appropriate, I refer to her last Crikey article:

"Within the decade, we could retrofit the whole nation for energy efficiency, replace all existing generation capacity with renewables, with solar thermal and bioenergy providing baseload, compensate existing generators, stop all logging of our native forest carbon stores, set up Just Transitions retraining programs for all workers affected by those transitions, move towards an electrified vehicle fleet and begin the re-design of our cities for sustainability with mass transit and cycleways."

What is Garnaut waiting for indeed!

Spot on Christine. And Garnaut is not unlike the Rudd Government in general on this issue. Admit the problem, talk about the need for urgent action, and then do bugger all for fear of upsetting the applecart. Which fails to take into account that the applecart will only get bigger, and inevitably be upset anyway. Act now and we are in apples up to our knees. leave it ten, twenty years, and we'll be buried by the buggers.

(Do I win a prize for silliest analogy of the year....?)
