I must be getting senile. For the first time I agree with JamesK. Brumby is turning out to be the Premier from Hell. He thinks he is a smart politician. I’m sorry, but when all his machinations lead to the destruction of an entire river, when he is prepared to screw entire communities-their shops, eating houses, meeting places, schools, you name it- by turning busy inner suburban Melbourne into an entire system of freeways ; by capitulating to Bernie Eccelstone, or whatever his name is, and agreeing to a “twilight” Grand Prix, by being insanely determined to get his own way-and b*gger the voters, and by proving to have the deepest pockets of any previous Premier, of ANY persuasion. Victoria will go down in parochial history as being the reincarnation of both Ghengiz Khan and Attilla the Hun, united in one unholy cess-pool.

JamesK , Kevin Rudd, is a God botherer which is alien to the Australian Constitution, and hateful to me. I have no hassles with a Labor government at all, It's just Kevin who gets up my nose.
I hope your concept for a new party, would be drawn from something a little more up to date than Abraham Lincoln's first grade reader.
Unfortunately, the average voter from OZ ; Zeitgeist is anything to do with the footy, the pub and the cricket. And he/she would imagine the word paradigm meant a new form of bio-fuel. Or a new union moverment. To be pronounce para-didge-em. And Bernard, why would you need tranquilizer darts in a place where they have The Herald Sun for the footy lovers and the Oz for the old dears of clubland? Bill Leak's cartoon of Alexander Downer in drag at a men club was a classic.

Kerry Packer famously said you only get one a lifetime. Rudd is Brumby’s patsy. Brumby has held the nation to ransom three times now and ‘won’ three times. He would not have got away with it the first time if Howard had not been booted out.
The nation has lost and there are no winners despite what Rudd and Brumby spin

JamesK. However, since you dragged John Howard into the discussion- The sanest thing this country has ever done was to get rid of John Howard. I knew I had had a spasm when I said I agreed with you. How you can solemnly believe Howard would have stopped Brumby? Howard was just a provincial little gutter-dweller who brought every thing and every one down to the level of the swill mixed with lumps of excreta laughingly known to its supporters as the coalition.
With John Brumby I’m talking on the level of Adolph Hitler.
