The latest parlour game here at Crikey is comparing the top stories that Australia’s quality broadsheet publisher prints in its newspaper editions — and the most read stories on its online versions. Chalk and cheese, or to be more accurate, Lindsay Lohan and Lindsay Tanner. But what would a Fairfax paper look like if it ran the same “most popular”, Google-friendly content as Fairfax online? A little like this: here’s a sneak peak at the future of broadsheet Australian publishing. Maybe.
