Wrt David Christie’s comments, I also would encourage Crikey to strive for excellence but certainly not on David Christie or Marilyn Shepherd’s terms. The 10 word 10 June editorial was……well beautiful…well done Crikey!.
Perhaps both yourself and Marilyn could subscribe to The Socialist Worker and share with similar minded individuals? Of course it may be rather more difficult to be justifiably indignant. Still nothing is ever perfect. Is it?

When was John Della Bosca “disgraced” Tim Bennett ?. It’s the media campaign against Della Bosca and Neal that has been disgraceful to date. You don’t have to like them but they are entitled to natural justice just like everyone else. To date they have recieved the exact opposite. This is becoming the norm in this country-people are being publicly judged “guilty” and condemned before the matter has run it’s course. Talk about a public lynching !.

Bob Corcoran: Wherein lies the morality of the Catholic Church in being against euthanasia, abortion, human dignity and logic? It is the Church's desire to bring everyone down to the semi-starved; the people living in favelas-sorry, the slums-squalor, despair but most of all the denial all decency to we humans. Once in the concentration camps-the last stop motels aka old peoples' homes, whatever. People are likely, in the face of a dreadful and lingering death, to turn to the witchcraft meted out by the Catholic Church.

To me, as an atheist (over 30% of the population) and to people who worship other Gods, the attitude of the far-right wing fundamentalist churches-led by the Catholic Church is an evil abomination.

Of course, the ignorant love it!

In another gigantic scam the Catholic church has managed to hold WYD, an inglorious catholic cock up with his effing fullness, the Pope. To my knowledge no voter was consulted. Worse, the taxpayer has to pay for yet another Ruddism. I thought John Howard and his merry band of thugs was as deep as despair could get. Now, with a God-botherer like Rudd, will see Australians departing Oz by the hundreds.
