Conflict of interest: Barns and Faris live!
|
Crikey’s own Greg Barns and Peter Faris make their mark on Melbourne’s Community TV Channel 31. Watch, spellbound, as they take celebrity solicitor Rob Stary to task over p — dophilia (was it all his fault?) among other things. And yes, they should change their shoes.

I have agreed with some of Faris’ views expressed in his numerous contributions to Crikey over the years and often found his arguments reasonable. Seeing him in action in this ‘discussion’ was quite disappointing especially as he is apparently a skilled barrister. He does not advance his cause nor show his viewer any respect by constantly shouting down Mr Stary and throwing irrelevant barbed comments into the discussion - why could he not exercise some of the basic debating courtesy and discipline that would better serve his purpose and undoubtedly be required in the courtroom? A legal client would be horrified at a performance such as this.
