Bill Henson is at best a creepy sleaze who legitimizes exploitation and sexualization of children- at worst a pedophile. Pedophiles are in fact everywhere. Often they believe themselves to be normal, healthy and ENTITLED. They believe they are doing children and their parents a FAVOUR.

High ranking Pedophiles are viewed by society as refined, respected and providing invaluable services to the community. They are most often beyond reproach. There is generally outrage when accusations are made. Pedophiles are all around us. And they are generally protected because most people do not understand the culture. It is out of range for people.

Bill Henson is listed as officially supporting Lowering of the Age of Consent.

Well done, Stephen Keim, from a fellow Queenslander who watched those repressive and paranoid years with mounting horror - only to find them succeeded by an equally anal and anxious period of government in which our current PM played a pivotal role. There is a belief in Queensland that there is little to distinguish Labor right from the Nats - both born from pastoral strife, and distinguished solely by whether you are from the "house" or the "shed."

Can States like Queensland ever find enough able and modestly moral people to enter politics? Signs are - no. Maybe the best argument for extinguishing the State governments is now being demonstrated by the uniform, relaxed Labor governments innocently engaged in juvenile squabbles and blame games.

Kevin Rudd has form. It is absolutely not revolting for him to go to a club to goggle live naked bodies, oh, he claimed he was drunk. But you must give him "credit", he did say he rejected the building of a Muslim school, on planning grounds.

Bravo - the applause in this part of NSW is deafening!! More political analysis please Mr Keim. I know that officially as you acknowledge, it's probably out of your realm of expertise. Perhaps Crikey could slot it under social commentary?

As an experienced medico and scientist my social interests I have nick-named ‘psychology, psychology, psychology is everything’ and in that vain I think The Barrister is very on the money with his explanation of PM Rudd’s off the cuff comment which gave comfort to so many who are confused by their deep concern for the internet smut from which they can’t protect their children and art with value in the form of human nudity.

Sorry, he did not actually call for it to be banned - he just expressed a view on the artistic mertis of the photographs of nude children. Why is he any less able to make a judgement as to its artistic merit than any other person? Are you arguing that his freedom of speech should be abridged?
