In Australia, it is a tax on "supplies", a very wide term. There is not and has never been any controversy about whether calculating GST on the excise inclusive price of petrol is really a tax on a "good" or "service". I will limit my observation to his comments a to "What Rudd should have said.." . MacCallum sounds eerily like an echo of his beloved ex-Prime Minister John Winston Howard. Perhaps Rudd would care to hire JWH as an adviser? Crikey would do well to get rid of this twit.
