Australian Lying Party? - as for woodchipped forest and truck loads of public money, same with clean coal until it all falls over. Check out the Norway Petroleum Safety Authority 2008 report - not safe, not reliable.

"The coal industry is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future".

It's comments like this that inspire desperation and make people think that we aren't going to be able to cap emissions by 2015 or halve our emissions well before 2030. There are plenty of examples worldwide of post-coal countries, and it is possible for us to convert to a 100% renewable economy - and even export renewable energy! Don't believe me, believe the climate scientists and the energy innovators.

Cheer up, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. While "clean coal" remains a myth, and remains unable to be deployed at utility scale before 2030, we have the options with us today to run a clean green country, and head to Copenhagen on the front foot.
