For once I'm going to quote the American experience-and I am no great lover of the yanks-. However, in the 1930's their equivalent of our Country Party had been going from strength to strength. So strong that one candidate, and his party, were sure that America voters would be in favour of electing him. The result was nothing short of a disaster. Unlike Australians, the Americans realized that a cow seed wasn't the person to be leading an industrial nation. Perhaps it's time the Aussie voters woke up.
