How ironic as I have just referred Paul Keating as critic of the unions in the SMH yesterday to the ACCC for deceptive postures on public energy as per s.52 of the TPA. I respect his democratic right to criticise the unions or anyone but a blatant error airbrushing $20 billion in value from the 1997 to 2008 plan as chair of Lazard Carnegie Wylie corporate sharks with a direct financial conflict ....was too much for me. But I suspect as per Peter Bartlett, media partner at Minter Ellison 2/5/08 at the Future of Journalism panel, that there is an exemption for news comment from the injunction against 'misleading and deceptive conduct in the course of business'. Even so PK better watch himself. A smart *rse comes a cropper eventually ... every time.

As the Director of Kids Free 2B Kids, I have spent the past 15 months raising community and corporate awareness about issues relating to the sexualisation of children. I continue to be shocked by the blatant disregard given to the welfare of children and young teens, by the corporate world. TIme and time again I see examples of the $$$ taking precedence over childrens wellbeing. A growing body of research and child development experts link sexualisation with anxiety, depression, self harm, body disorders, increased sti's and more. Shame on DJ's! They could have responded by taking the time to understand the issue and lead the corporate world by example. (Where are the leaders??) I congratulate Dr Clive Hamilton and The Australia Institute in highlighting an increasing global issue that deserves urgent attention. Interesting timing for the case to be dropped - right in the middle of a senate inquiry into the sexualisation of children. I can't help but wonder...why now?

The David Jones Story 7/5/08. This story could easily have run without the photo. It was not necessary to publish it but sadly Crikey too often goes down the same path as Media Watch by republishing the wrong or quoting verbatim, while commenting on usually a highly offensive story. By republishing don't you see, you repeat the offense. Please stop this practice.
