It is obvious, as this horrific disaster unfolds (22,000 dead, 45,000 missing) the barbaric military rulers are not interested in the welfare of the Burmese people, their suffering or their needs. It amazes me the ordinary ranks in the army do not just get out and assist, they cant all be so desperately loyal to the Generals that they sit back and watch their own people suffer and die. If ever the civilised world needed to move in and rout this bunch of criminals it is now, and to hell with China. It is inconceivable China would lift a finger to assist the them, knowing every caring and fair minded country have combined to release the Burmese from their decades of misery. The time for action is now, what are they (the generals) going to do if every aid agency moved in, with or without visas and began humanitarian work. Lock them up, shoot them, deport them? It is obvious the lame duck UN will do nothing as usual, countries together need to act without the consent of UN representatives.
