An insight into Bob Carr, drawn by Cornwall with a carpet bag, from a literary review about Carr's selection of best books of the 20C. Carr enthused about various books etc including probably my favourite author Guisepe de Lampedusa e.g. The Leopard. So what's my point? Carr in another interview a year or two back with Gore Vidal said the internet was TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to politics. Vidal demurred. Carr was damn dogmatic too. Well I've just been at a 2 day conference The Future of Journalism with big media constantly referring to online future for survival and opportunities. My Space Australia referred to Kevin 07 as ground breaking with Coalition missing in action. Obama has raised tens of millions online. Conclusion: Carr is stuck in the past, indeed it may have been google cross referencing that finished his spin machine off by mid 2005? His credibility and the political economic model at Macquarie Bank inventing price points is also up for review this weekend
