Looks like stock standard cronyism. Meanwhile at Australia's 'biggest community centre' Addison Rd Centre Marrickville Sydney the general manager's job has not been put to open tender since the last GM resigned in October 2007. The temporary/acting GM Yvette Andrews is ALP ex staffer of retired ALP legislative council president Meredith Burgman (and Sydney City Hall aspirant) . Andrews stepped down from President of the ARC Board to immediately take up the acting GM job at $65K p.a (or maybe part time?) last December or thereabouts. That's nearly 5 months with no open employment process in an ALP dominated sector of the city in a publicly financed organisation (including state and federal grant money for various tenants). Being my local community centre frankly this kind of thing makes me puke.
