We were there for the arrival of the torch. Given the overall concerns, it was a well managed event - by all involved. The Federal Police got a huge round of applause. As usual, the media coverage - chatter chatter - misses the importance of recognizing all the individual participants, from 80year old soup kitchen ladies, to victims of the London bombings. It wasn't all Ian Thorpe. It made me wonder how Australians overseas would react if they felt their nation had been besmirched by inaccurate media coverage. Most likely have another beer, mate.

Yeah I reckon grabbing a torch is fair enough to protest human rights when kids are getting shot in Tibet. Too right I do. Keane is right about China Inc most likely invented the so called Uygur bomb plot a week previous. Tibetans didn't have their embassy paying transport I gather. Shouting by the way Stephen is fine. Hitting people with flag poles is a criminal offence and gaolable. As is standing over and intimidation which can amount to criminal or civil assault even without physical contact (bit of free criminal law advice for you). As for Quinlan he was playing the IOC /AOC security industry script a week out and did sound like the "lackey" Keane refers too. Seriously lacking perspective or balance like Gosper so often but then they both know whose paying don't they. What about you Steve?

So grabbing a torch by force from a disabled person is an exercise in free speech? So Chinese protesters are organised and the Tibetans are not? "Convenient discovery of a plot to blow the whole thing up" is worst than "WMD in Iraq"? And no shouting at a protest? Maybe Chinese are not allowed to, according you, Bernard.
