In the name of an Ideology that they can’t even articulately describe much less define, Howard & Nelson, as you so succinctly point out, have seriously damaged everything connected to their anti-intellectual kindy-gallant giant politically corrective action on Uni fees but assisted no one in the process.
The tragedy to physical health sits along side a plethora of other injuries to the young at University.
All intelligent Australians in that loop will put it right.
The new government needs a little time, their agenda must be overwhelming.

Beautifully put. This will be a litmus test of the Rudd governments credibility. However I don’t think his should be a levy on students sports facilities and clubs should be funded by the university or direct by the govt. The funding could come as a direct transfer of funds from the pharmaceutical benefits where there is currently a billion dollars per year spent on cholesterol lowering tablets alone. Over half of these tablets are given to low risk individuals.
