A member of my family has been on the receiving end of the uneven-handedness of this woman and her determination to ensure that Australian musicians are treated as second class citizens in the musical world. Quality and excellence in musical practice is being sacrificed to the paranoia of an insecure woman surrounding herself with sycophantic yes-bunnies. I think the governor should reconsider, as she has been advised. And I think that Sydney University should look closely at the situation and the continuing concern and disquiet of the staff at all levels. Vice Chancellors have been forced to resign for less substantial plagiarism than that at issue here - and that is not the only issue. Promotions and appointments under Kim Williams should be carefully re-evaluated. VAN

If you are going to make scathing allegations about someone in the media at least have the guts to show your face. Who's to say that this "disgruntled" anonymous letter writer isn't the cause of these supposedly "real" issues. It would appear that after last years supposed plagiarism allegations that Dean Walker is still holding her position. Why do you think that is???

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music is an inspiring institution and in my experience does an amazing amount to forward music in this great country of ours!

Perhaps the writer of said letter should take some well offered advice from my mother:
If you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all.

If they are a senior member of staff then they should be seriously questioning their role at the school and do the Con and themselves a favour and get another job.

Perhaps however no one else will take them.......

Food for thought and perhaps music for the school's ears.
