For a buyer, it is safer and easier than any other method. Having said that, it seems extraordinary that Paypal will soon be the only way to pay for a purchase. Many buyers are completely happy with bank deposit and other payment methods and I know that Paypal is very expensive for sellers, so surely buyers (and sellers) should be offered a choice. It would suit me to see Paypal availability being enforced for every sale, but other payment methods should also be available for those who choose to use them - the operative word being 'choose'. As an intelligent adult I hate to be told "we're forcing you to do (x) for your own good", but when the enforcer stands to benefit directly (and secretly), it really makes my blood boil. If eBay takes away my choice, I will seriously be considering switching to Oztion. I am old enough to look out for my own "safety" and "security", thanks very much eBay. Indeed, I know of one case where someone in the UK bought a non-existent Whitefriars glass 'Banjo' vase from Australia for $2,000. Because international postage is so slow, by the time they realised they'd been diddled, the Paypal deadline for complaints had lapsed.
