Re: Myer. I went to Myer Bondi Junction yesterday, lured by the massive advertising campaign and the promise of a mid-season sale. The stock was all over the shop, literally, the price markers all muddled up, you could not find a member of staff for love or money. I rotated through three cash register points for about 25 minutes before giving up - one I was repeatedly sent to was unattended, one had a staff member who was busy with a very complex transaction (a customer buying a $20 item with a combination of a voucher and credit) and another sales guy was backwards and forwards looking for tissue paper.
After trying my hardest to purchase a hairdryer and new iron, in the end I gave up and put the boxes back where I had found them.
Solution? Myer should spend some of their ad budget on hiring staff who know the products, help customers and can sell stock. There's no point spending millions to get people into their stores, and then being unable to close the deal.

Re: Myer performance in Victoria

has anyone noticed Doncaster has just about ceased to be a shopping destination...the building seems to have been going on 'forever'. we have given up on going there, after being regulars for years.

might explain the dip in Myer in victoria
