Surely the most apposite of Ned’s comments in his Jerilderie screed was that he was Australian born whereas the troopers who harassed him were without exception Irish landlords’ bailiffs and peelers who could no longer reside safely on the ould Sod.

I have always thought that the Jerilderie letter came from a well educated source. Did Kelly have an educational background sufficient to be the real author?
