Nelson is probably waiting to see who wins the US election. Then he can ape his predecessor, JWH,
in attempting to find the most groveling way he can ask the new president’s permission to think about the problem. There are mining tracts out there!

I am getting fed up to the back teeth with Paddy McGuinness. He might have been a big deal in Sydney, but elsewhere he was just a ratbag who edited Quadrant. If I never hear another word about him again it will be too soon. (Sorry Mungo.)

And I just want to say YES! to Mungo’s suggestion that Nelson says YES. I have great difficulty understanding any point of view that can’t see the appropriateness of an apology as an essential starting point to a more hopeful future for us all.

You don’t have to apologize but I do wish you had left him there, possibly attached to a chimney thus allowing his naturally generated flatulence to pollute only the atmosphere and not our body politic as it did.

Tops Mungo! As well intentioned and criminal as Hitler’s Jewish anxiety therapy “the long sleep” at that same time. Rudds ‘you’re either with it or against it’ should become “only a ‘felt’ appology is acceptable”- no jumping on jesture bandwagons allowed.
