Spot on, Mungo. Governments are there to fix things, not tell the truth. It’s not as if we expect politicians NOT to lie, is it? At least tax cuts would have been a promise worth breaking. What do we want, George Washington or economic Armageddon?

There is only one problem with trying to cut either the Private Education subsidies and the Private Health Rebate…the magnificent profits that you describe have also been funneled into the best spin doctors that money can buy.
